Cartwheels to Quicksand – lessons as a CEO

Erica will unpack the story of how she became the only cartwheeling CEO ever to land on the NASDAQ and how quicksand unveils your life lessons. 

With over three decades in the Medtech sector, Erica has had the privilege of serving as a CEO and serial entrepreneur, dedicating her efforts to innovation and leadership. Steering Silk Road Medical for eleven years, she successfully navigated the company from early venture funding to a triumphant IPO in 2019, overseeing its expansion from a 25-person startup to a flourishing 500-employee organization. In addition to founding two companies, she played a crucial role in launching the first non-profit pharmaceutical company in women’s health. She has been humbled to receive recognitions such as 2023 MedTech MVP, Forbes’s “50 over 50” Women, Silicon Valley’s “Power 100” top CEOs, and EY Entrepreneur of the Year, and is a named inventor on more than 25 US patents in medical technologies. Erica now serves on four for-profit Boards, and one non-profit Board and is Chair person or member of Compensation Committee, Commercial Committee and Investment Committee. She holds a BA in Zoology and is an avid outdoor sports person and ballroom dancer.
