Folklorist and musician John Ryan is a lifelong Rochesterian and, for the last 20 years, a fixture on the region’s vibrant Irish cultural scene. At pub sessions and on stages great and humble, and as an instructor at the Hochstein School, he has the happy vocation of spreading Irish music year-round, not just during Paddy’s Month. He lives in his native North Winton Village with his partner, the journalist and fundraiser Rebecca Rafferty, and their two children, and can be heard next month at a free show in Hochstein’s grand hall, Sunday April 7.
