Marisa Geitner, President and CEO of Heritage Christan Services will be joining speaking to our club on Tuesday, May 16th at Locust Hill Country Club.

Marisa Geitner, who will be celebrating 30 years with the organization in June, began her career at Heritage Christian Services by working directly with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her hard work and dedication to our mission were crucial to the agency’s growth and her continued development as a leader. Since 2013, she has served as president and C.E.O.

Care jobs, including roles like nurse’s aides, nursing home workers, direct support professionals, child care workers, and home health aides, are projected to experience rapid growth in the United States, with a 25% increase by 2031, which is five times faster than most other jobs. The demand for long-term care is expected to surge as the aging population and life expectancy rise, potentially reaching 27 million people in need by 2050. These jobs require the uniquely human quality of compassion and cannot be replaced by robots or artificial intelligence. To foster positive change, it is crucial that we invest in the caring professions by providing competitive wages that enable self-sufficiency, good benefits, and retirement plans. Transforming the financial drivers in this field is essential to bring about the necessary improvements.
